My name is Kayla Charban and I am the crazy personality behind Azariah Cosplay. I grew up and currently live in the beautiful city of Thunder Bay, Ontario; a Northern city in Canada that brings new meaning to the phrase “Winter is Coming”. I’m a life long geek with a strong passion for video games, anime, manga, history, dragons and cosplay.
I’ve always been an artistic person with a passion for geek subcultures. It wasn’t until I was in my late teens and early twenties while working at a historical re-enactment park that I discovered I had a natural knack for sewing. I have fond memories of creeping other cosplayers pictures and wishing I could do it myself, and one day I just decided to hunker down and do it.
I’ve been making costumes for a few years but I didn’t enter the cosplay scene until 2014 when I debuted my Nightingale cosplay from Skyrim. I couldn’t believe the reception my cosplay received. That was when I decided to create this blog to help others achieve their own cosplay dream.
Not only will I be discussing how I made my cosplays, but also what tools I used and what my successes and failures were. I’m also going to be discussing how to balance life and cosplay since I also work a full time job, and was recently a University student at Lakehead University where I acquired a double HBA in History and Philosophy.
I’m very excited to go on this journey with all of you!
